Hotel Récamier, newly renovated by the proprietors of the Hotel Verneuil and Hotel Thérèse is about to become a new exclusive address in Paris: half of the 24 rooms have a direct view on place Saint Sulpice ( in the heart of the left bank Saint Germain des Prés area). The building, discreetly nestled behind the trees on the side of the church of Saint Sulpice, is made of early 20th C free stone. The rooms have been superbly revamped by the renowned interior designer Jean Louis Deniot who was inspired to create 24 entirely different rooms with one theme per floor. On a classical basis he has added some eclecticism inspired by the various 20th century decorative styles. You will find neither hyper exuberance nor minimalism: here we are talking real Parisian elegance, no cheap effects. As is often the case on the left bank the space is limited, so you must not expect a large reception hall and a huge sitting room: we are here in the bourgeois intimacy of a family home. Hotel Recamier was a sleepy little hotel nicely hidden behind the trees on Place Saint Sulpice (Saint Germain des Prés). It has just reopened its doors after a substantial renovation. On any floor, the two rooms with a view on the place Saint Sulpice can be joined to create a family suite. The area is one of the most pleasant one can dream of in Paris. In the heart of everything that makes Paris so desirable, Saint Germain des Prés, its art galleries, fashion boutiques (Saint Laurent, Lacroix, C.Dior, Emporio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Ferragamo and all the high street brands as well), its home furnishings shops (Flamand, Blanc d’Ivoire, Maison de Famille….): all these places are within walking distance from the hotel , as well as the garden of Luxembourg (including its museum) for a morning jog or a romantic promenade. The Louvre and Orsay museums are two or three bus stops away. As for delicacies and restaurants, the choice is wide: Patisseries Ladurée, Pierre Hermé and Mulot are round the corner , and we shall be very happy to recommend an extensive selection of local restaurants.
